Aiden conducted research visit to Columbia University where he visited Prof. Dan Ellis during which audio data recorded by iRiver MP3 while wearing a SenseCam device was processed. A paper which discusses fusion of light and accelerometer SenseCam sensors and low level features processed on SenseCam images, and was accepted for RIAO’07.

Aiden has also worked on the implementation of a SenseCam web browser using SQL Server and ASP.NET. The interface is based on that proposed by Dr. Hyowon Lee. Firstly event segmentation is carried out, which is then the most unique events are determined for each day.

Future research includes investigating the optimal techniques to find similar events and the determination of event uniqueness scores. Augmentation of SenseCam images with pictures from external databases shall also be investigated. This may be useful to populate the diary of tourists.
