VENUE

ESSIR 2005 will be held in Dublin City University, Ireland, hosted by Centre for Digital Video Processing. Dublin City University is a young university, situated on an 85 acre campus three miles north of the River Liffey in the city centre and just a 15-minute drive from Dublin airport. With the city just a 10-minute bus drive away, students of DCU have the best of both worlds; the social and cultural benefits of city life, but with the security and vibrancy of a university campus built very much for today.

 

ESSIR 2005 will be both residential and non-residential. Residents at ESSIR 2005 will be accommodated in on-campus residences which are en suite and include breakfast.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

On arrival at Dublin Airport, you can easily get a taxi to DCU (about €9) or to the city centre (about €15). The exact location of the summer school on the first day (Monday) will be signposted from the reception at the campus. Some extra information you might find useful here:

Dublin City Universty

Dublin City University is a 85 acre campus situated 3 & 1/2 miles from the city centre and 4 miles from Dublin Airport. It has all the usual facilities and amenities of a modern university including computers labs with email/web access for students and lecturers, library, sports centre and swimming pool, residences, supermarket, bars, cafes, and restaurants.
