Yi commenced a PhD on the iCLIPS project in October 2007 having completed an MSc in Psychological Research at Bangor University in the UK and a BSc in Computer Communication at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. Her MSc project focused on memory and awareness in amnesic patients. She has been trained in both qualitative and quantitative research methods and has some insight into human memory, along with experience in surveys and small group behavioural experiments.
Her PhD research focuses on exploiting peoples’ memory to assist information re-finding in personal lifelogs. Her current research includes: defining "context" for items in lifelogs regarding their role in human memory; exploring episodic memory on computer activities; and developing suggestive interfaces with contextual memory cues for result refining.
